In my opinion, network marketing is one of the best ways of doing business in our modern day. In many cases, those getting into the industry are able to finally realize their dreams.
For some people this could mean time freedom, for others it may be a dream holiday, or leaving the corporate world behind for good.
The list is endless, but it's nearly always network marketing that gets them there. Now before I share my three network marketing tips for success, I need to ask you a question. Are you prepared to invest some time into personal development? The reason I ask this is because...
Network marketing, by its very nature, demands that you grow both in business knowledge and as a person. It's really important that you grasp this because without this growth you will fail at network marketing. I don't mean to be negative here, but it's the truth.
Anyone getting into this industry must be prepared to be stretched out of their comfort zone, and grow up into a leader. The reason the network marketing industry continually experiences phenomenal grow is because of all the great leaders in it. Most of these leaders didn't start out as leaders but came into the industry as complete newbies and were trained by those who got started before them.
So are you ready to grow? I'm sure you probably are, so on with my three network marketing tips:
1) Have a good attitude
Being a positive person doesn't come naturally for some people and yet for others it's just part of their nature. When it comes to network marketing, being a positive person is vitally important. Let me ask you a question to illustrate what I mean. When was the last time you saw a top network marketing earner with a bad attitude?
Probably never right? I'm not saying this can't happen, but it would be extremely rare to find a top earner complaining about the industry. I've been around this industry for several years and I've never come across a top earner with a bad attitude yet.
Being a positive person does not always come naturally, but the good news is it can be learned. This is where a little personal development comes into the picture. Remember a couple of paragraphs ago I mentioned something about personal growth? Well it starts with learning how to be positive even in the face of difficult circumstances.
Being positive is a big part of having a good attitude. A good attitude will overcome any obstacle; a good attitude will succeed despite the negative circumstances. Why? simply because the person with a good attitude chooses to believe that life will get better. They choose to view obstacles as stepping stones to greater things.
The truth is you will face obstacles and challenges in network marketing, however, if you choose to stay positive you will experience some pretty amazing things in your business. Not only this, but you will grow as you encounter difficulties and you'll be better equipped to help any team members who might be experiencing similar things in their business.
2) Never quit
Here's something that I believe very strongly: When it comes to network marketing, there's only one way to fail and that's to quit. "Winners never quit, and quitters never win."- Vince Lombardi
If you're going to get started in network marketing only to quit three months down the road, don't get started at all. When people ask me how long they should give it until they see some success? I tell them, "as long as it takes." Honestly, it's impossible to tell a person how long it's going to take them to build a successful business, there are to many variables.
What I can tell you, however, is the industry's general rule of thumb: Which is, three to five years to build a profitable network marketing business. Please note that this is only an average statistic taken from right across the board of many individual businesses. Some people do it quicker and others slower, it all depends on the individual.
Now you might be saying to yourself, "I'm never going to quit no matter what!" Well good for you because that's exactly the attitude you'll need to succeed. Hold that for a moment while you read the next couple of paragraphs.
Here's some things that could happen to tempt you to quit:
-Your sponsor and/or up-line may suddenly quit or jump to another company
- A large portion of your down-line suddenly quits
- You'll see others in your company crushing it and you'll wonder why you're not, and you begin to doubt yourself.
-You start to question your sanity, especially now that your family and friends think you're crazy for doing this 'network marketing stuff.'
- You'll start to constantly evaluate how much time you have put in compared to how much you've made, and it looks like a joke.
These things are common place in the network marketing industry, however, I can promise you this: If you'll just stay the course and use these obstacles to grow, nothing will be able to stop you from achieving the success you desire.
3) Learn to build relationships
Building a successful network marketing business is all about relationships. In fact your business's very survival will depend on the relationships you build both in your team and outside of your team.
Building strong relationships within your down-line has the potential to propel your business to dizzy heights. The stronger your relationships the stronger your business. This means communicating with your team on a regular basis, and being quick to answer questions, and to help out whenever you can.
It's also a good idea to build relationships outside of your business. Social media provides the perfect means to achieve this. Now I'm not a big fan of FaceBook, but if you have an account use it to reach out to others. Don't spam your business opportunity all over your friends, just be social and let them come to you.
Remember it's all about building relationships and turning strangers into friends who hopefully will get to 'know, like, and trust you.' Don't forget about Twitter either, I'm a fan of Twitter and use it extensively to build friendships with people who may at some point want to find out more about what I'm doing. It does not really matter which social media platform you like, just be sure to use it to build a warm market for your business.
These then are my three network marketing tips for success. Really they're just the fundamentals. Yes network marketing is not easy, but if you embrace these fundamentals you will achieve success. Here's a quick recap: 1) Have a good attitude, 2) Never quit, 3) Learn to build relationships.
